NXT GEN Pre-Launch Workshop 1
NXT GEN Foundation officially began its journey with its NPC Pre-Launch at the ABM iTrump Centre in Durban. The event introduced NXT GEN Foundation’s vision of empowering young people through skills development, employment opportunities, leadership, mentorship and community-driven initiatives. The presentation highlighted some of the major challenges facing young people and communities, including youth unemployment, limited economic opportunities, skills erosion, poverty and social instability. It also introduced NXT GEN’s approach to addressing these challenges through practical skills development, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, leadership development, advocacy and partnerships with businesses, mentors and municipal stakeholders. A key focus of the event was the importance of collaboration. NXT GEN invited stakeholders, sponsors, businesses and community partners to contribute through resources, expertise, mentorship, advocacy and opportunities for young people, helping transform youth-led ideas into sustainable community solutions.

NXT GEN Foundation Workshop 2
Our second NXTGEN workshop built on the success of our first and took our vision even further. During the session, we shared exciting updates on key initiatives including Project 40, Informal Settlement Solutions, our fundraising strategy, and the proposed Social Awareness Arena. We also introduced new projects we are looking forward to developing, including the Youth Desk, Park Support, Project Informal Crèche, and a proposed Mass Market Site. Most importantly, the workshop created an opportunity to build valuable networks, exchange ideas, and receive constructive feedback from those who attended. These insights will help guide and strengthen our future workshops and projects. A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and continues to support the NXTGEN journey. Together, we are creating opportunities, building stronger communities, and empowering the next generation.

NXT GEN Mandela Day -Banana City Outreach Programme
On 18 July 2026, NXT GEN Foundation welcomed children from the Banana City Informal Settlement Crèche to the ABM iTrump Building for a special day filled with laughter, dancing, face painting, food, refreshments and gifts for every child. This project is especially close to our hearts. As the older youth generation, we are determined to help build the bridge to a better future for these children by creating opportunities, stronger support systems and communities that allow them to grow and thrive. A major part of this commitment is our planned revamp of the Banana City Crèche — a space where young minds, character, confidence and ambition begin to develop. Days like this remind us why we do what we do. With greater support and partnerships, we can reach more children, improve more spaces and create lasting change. Watch this space — there is much more to come. #BananaCityCrecheDrive – Coming Soon We are Proudly South African. We are the youth. We are to be Recognized, Included and Prioritized.
